ADA 31st Anniversary: Celebrating Resilience!
July 26, 2021
Mark your calendars and save the date for a virtual ADA 31st Anniversary Event
Celebration and inspiration rule the day as we mark the 31st Anniversary of the ADA. This free, online event will feature an afternoon of informative, engaging, and entertaining speakers and performances from across our state. Duluth Mayor Emily Larson will welcome attendees and share ways the Zenith City of the north is working to ensure greater accessibility for all its residents and visitors. NAMI Minnesota’s Executive Director Sue Abderholden will reflect on ways the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted people with disabilities and the resilience shown by so many in these challenging times. Peter Berg, Project Manager with the Great Lakes ADA Center, will discuss the transformation to teleworking as a vital accessibility accommodation during the pandemic. And the BOLD-choice Theater Company will share a message of acceptance, diversity, and personal pride through a poignant theatrical performance.
This virtual event is free, open to the public, and will offer audio descriptions, ASL, and CART and provide other accommodations as requested.
Additional presenters to be announced shortly. For updates and more details, visit this page and the Event Facebook Page. Thank you to the ADA 31st Anniversary Planning Committee members for their work and dedication in making this event possible.
